Axolotls can regenerate body parts from limbs, spines, eyes, to their brains

Have you ever heard of the water monster? Or, the salamander that never ages? Or, perhaps, the axolotl? As masters at regeneration, these strange yet intriguing creatures are so good at healing themselves, they can regenerate body parts from limbs, spines, eyes, to their brains!
What if humans could do the same? For the first time, BGI Group researchers constructed the world’s first spatiotemporal cellular atlas of the axolotl’s brain development and regeneration, revealing how a brain injury can heal itself.
